DeShauna Peshlakai Obituary
July 18, 1992 - March 5, 2010
DeShauna Lynn Peshlakai, 17, of Naschitti, died Friday, March 5, 2010, in Santa Fe. She was born July 18, 1992, in Albuquerque, into the Towering House Clan for the Red Running into the Water Clan. Her paternal Clan is Folding Arm Clan and Salt Clan.
Peshlakai was a senior at Newcomb High School. She was a member of the National Honor Society. She participated in basketball and volleyball. She enjoyed spending time with nieces and nephews and her beloved dog "July," riding horses, listening to music, being on the internet and rodeos.
Peshlakai was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Lee and Grace Peshlakai; maternal grandparents, Mabel and John Thomas; aunt, Marilyn Peshlakai; and uncles, Michael "Chibby" Peshlakai and Anthony Thomas.
Survivors include her father, David Peshlakai; mother, Darlene Thomas, both of Naschitti; brothers, Shawn Begay and David Peshlakai Jr.; sisters, Darnell Peshlakai, Danell Peshlakai, Angeline Allison and DeLacey Peshlakai and 13 nieces and nephews.
Memorial services for "Brat" DeShauna will be at 10 a.m. today, March 12, at Rehoboth Christian Reformed Church in Rehoboth with Jerome Sandoval officiating.
Pallbearers are Shea Bowman, Nathan "Cash" Peshlakai, Isodare "Izzy" Gonnie, Tyler Willatto, Brandon Harper, Michael Ashley and Gregory Vallo.
Arrangements are with Desert View Funeral Home of Shiprock, North U.S. Hwy. 491; (505) 368-4607.

To the Peshlaki family, my deepest sincerest condolences. To lose one loved one is heartbreaking, but why would God send for two angels to come Home at the same time? No one really knows, but we know that God will send His Angels forward to be with the grieving family and friends, and remember... during our most darkest times is when we need prayers, faith and family the most. I am sending my prayers to the family, the young ladies who have moved on, and asking God's Angels to hold each of you ,wipe away your tears and to always remember the young ladies took each of your love with them.
