Ervin Peshlakai Obituary
Ervin was a loving brother, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He dedicated 36 years working as a Realty Specialist in Eastern Navajo BIA Agency, in Crownpoint and Window Rock Realty Offices. He was awarded an Achievement Award for his service as a Reality Specialist.
He enlisted in the U.S. Navy Nov. 16. 1953, and served on U.S.S. Hopewell Destroyer during the Korean Conflict, operating with Korean and Nationalist Chinese Ships. He was Honorably Discharged.
Ervin was proceeded in death by his brothers, Hugh Peshlakai, Herman Peshlakai, Steven Peshlakai and Harold Cayaditto; mother, Sue Peshlakai; and father, Sam Peshlakai. He leaves behind his companion, Lucille Dyer; daughters, Theresa Morgan of Crownpoint and Kim Peshlakai of Farmington; sons, Eugene Peshlakai of Pagosa Springs, Colo., Gabriel Peshlakai of Mesa, Ariz., Samuel Peshlakai of Denver and Ervin Peshlakai Jr. of Crownpoint; brother, Emerson Peshlakai of Mesa, Ariz.; sister, Bea Woodward of Continental Divide; 22 grandchildren and 21 great-great-grandchildren.
A funeral service for Ervin will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 16 at St. Paul Catholic Church in Crownpoint with Pastor Darryl McCullough officiating. Burial to follow at Crownpoint Community Cemetery. Reception will follow burial at St. Paul Catholic Church Hall.
Pallbearers are Eugene Peshlakai, Gabriel Peshlakai, Samuel Peshlakai, Ervin Peshakai Jr. Shannon Peshlakai and Byron Charlee.
Funeral arrangements are with Compassion Mortuary.

I am so sorry to hear of Ervin's passing. My mother, Helen Morgan, always considered him to be a close relative and was a close friend to his mother, Sue Peshlakai, as well as his sister, Bea Woodward. We grew up in the community of Crownpoint and went to school with his children. Please accept my condolences to the family.
