Fidel Dawes Obituary
Fidel enjoyed fishing, collecting music and grilling. He was an avid New Orleans Saints fan. He was proud of his 32,000 black metal collection of music on his iTunes. Fidel was a proud father, grandfather, husband, son, brother and uncle. He always loved cooking and eating pork chops.
Fidel was preceded in death by his son, Jared Dawes; brother, Dino Dawes; and his grandparents, Dick Begay and Katy Begay. He is survived by his wife, Cheryl Frank; daughters, Laurie Dawes, Shara Dawes, Elissa Dawes and Hayden Dawes; parents, Percy Dawes and Emily Dawes; brother, Perphil Dawes; sisters, Prentiss (Norton) Dennison, Kaylene (Lathaniel) Valdez, Percheryl Dawes and Ednena (Harvey) Younge; grandmother, Edna Dawes; grandchildren, Aaliyah Anthony, Eli Anthony and Malachi Anthony; 10 nephews; 10 nieces, and numerous aunts and uncles.
A funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Friday, Oct. 30 at Piñon Hills Community Church, 5101 N. Dustin Ave. in Farmington with pastors Tim Hargrove and Ronald Beyale officiating. Burial will follow in St. Luke's Cemetery in Carson. A reception will follow at the Huerfano Chapter House in Huerfano.
Pallbearers are Marty Benally, Troy Bitsuie, Deitrick Dawes, Jericho Antonio, Theodore Frank, Lars Frank, Earl Cowboy and Rodney Platero.
