Jack Tubb Obituary

Jack Ellis Tubb, 79, of Farmington, passed from this life on Thursday, April 2, 2009, at home with his family by his side. He was born March 16, 1930, in Nineveh, Texas, to Cliff Norman and Essie Mae Tubb.
Jack graduated from high school in Palestine, Texas, and married the love of his life, Wanda Saffell, on Oct. 18, 1950, in Snyder, Texas. He attended Northrop Aeronautical Institute in Inglewood, Calif.
Jack and Wanda had three children, son, Scott Tubb; and daughters, Jacki Fiske and Wanett McCauley. Together, they owned and operated numerous businesses ranging from coin-operated laundries, retail shoe and discount stores, oil drilling rigs, real estate development and new and used auto dealerships.
Jack lived life to the fullest, including skydiving, wake boarding, cliff jumping, rappelling, white water rafting, flying airplanes and helicopters, motorcycling, 4-wheeling and snowmobiling, even during the last year of his life. His hobbies included drawing, pottery making, building and maintaining a helicopter, building and remodeling homes for family and friends, fishing, maintaining and enjoying the outdoor pond and waterfall he built, drafting, and raising pet squirrels. But, most of all Jack loved time spent with kinds, especially his grand kids and great grand kids.
He was preceded in death by his grandson, Jacob Fiske; his parents; and his brothers, Billy Tubb and Dubb Tubb.
Jack is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Wanda; two sisters, Jo Smith of Snyder and Yvonne Gilbert (Pete) of Killeen, Texas; daughters, Wanett McCauley and Jacki Fiske (Lee); son, Scott Tubb (Merry); grandchildren, Caleb Fiske (Micah), Will McCauley (Jasmine), Whitney McCauley, Sarah Leverett (Justin), Brittany Potter (Evan), Beni Fiske, Brooke Fiske (Danny); Brenna Tubb; great-grandchildren Andrew Leverett, Jenevae Fiske, Ethan Fiske, Lainey Leverett, Silas Fiske, Hailey Jo Leverett, Camille Wiley Fiske and Brailie Fiske.
In Carlsbad, Jack gave of his time freely to Kiwanis Club and was on the Board of Directors for Lakeview Retirement Village and served as a deacon for Sunset Church of Christ. Until his death, he was an active member of Northside Church of Christ.
Jack was an exceptional husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend. He will be greatly missed by all those whose lives he touched.
Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. today, Sunday, April 5, at Cope Memorial Chapel in Farmington.
Memorial services for Jack will be at 10 a.m. Monday, April 6, at Northside Church of Christ, 401 20th St. W. in Farmington, with Lee Fiske, Allen Isbell and D.L. Harguess officiating.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Camp Blue Haven in Las Vegas, N.M., or Gospel for Asia in Carrollton, Texas.
