Kimberly Sanchez Obituary

Albuquerque
Kimberly ""KiKi-D."" Dawn Stolworthy Sanchez
July 26, 1970-Nov. 2, 2012

Kimberly ""KiKi-D."" Dawn Stolworthy Sanchez, 42, of Albuquerque, died on Friday, Nov. 2, 2012, in Albuquerque. She was born July 26, 1970, in Fairfield, Calif., to Robert (Tom) and Billie Stolworthy.
KiKi-D. fought courageously for three years to overcome a traumatic brain injury but her earthly body grew tired and on Nov. 2, she joined her Heavenly Father and family for the peace and rest she so deserved.
Kim was an accomplished gymnast and athlete. In her younger years she was seeded as #1 in Division II gymnastics. She soared on the unevens and was fearless on the beam and vault. A real beauty to watch!
Kim was a single mom and worked for Continental Airlines out of Newark, N.J. and Houston, Texas until her return to New Mexico.
Though small and petite she had the temperament of her red hair.
KiKi-D. loved life, she rode her Harley with the best and danced to her own beat. She was truly a ""Diamond in the Rough.""
Her family would like to thank all her extended family, the people who watched over her and helped her in all her personal trials.
Kimberly, you are my sunshine-we miss you already. Sleep well.
She was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Murel and Grace Williams; paternal grandparents, Robert and Carmen Stolworthy and one grandchild.
Kimberly is survived by her son, Nycholas DeLeon; daughters, Nakrista (Josh) Saiz and Brittaney Escojeda; her parents; brothers, Derek (Charity) Stolworthy and Justin (Emily) Stolworthy and three grandchildren.
Visitation will be 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 7, at Brewer, Lee and Larkin Funeral Home in Farmington.
A funeral service will be 11 a.m. on Thursday, Nov. 8, at Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 400 W. Apache St. in Farmington.
Interment will follow in Kline, Colo.
Join the family for the reception from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. at 4600 Summer Wind Lane in Farmington.
Pallbearers are Derek Stolworthy, Justin Stolworthy, Robert Stolworthy, Larry Martinez and Paul Williams.
Kimberly's care is entrusted to Brewer, Lee and Larkin Funeral Home, 103 E. Ute St. in Farmington, 505-325-8688.

When I reflect on my teenage age years, there isn't too many memories that don't have Kim in them. We use to walk to heights junior high together every morning. Our lives ended up traveling in different directions, but once in a while they intersected, I feel sad knowing that I'll never be able to talk to her again. I suppose only God knows why he calls people home, even though it leaves those of us here left filled with sadness. For her family, I am truly sorry for the sadness that you feel.
