Milton Gary Hickman

December 21, 1955 - July 3, 2021

Milton Gary Hickman, 65, of Aztec, New Mexico, transitioned peacefully to the non-physical on July 3, 2021, in Houston, Texas.

Gary grew up in Aztec, then attended New Mexico State University in Las Cruces where he earned advanced degrees in both mathematics and theoretical physics. He went on to obtain a fellowship in the Society of Actuaries and enjoyed a lifelong career in the field of actuarial science. Gary was passionate about traveling and embracing other cultures learning six languages, camping, hiking, cooking, and being kind to others.

Gary is survived by his husband of 22 years Drew, his brother Larry (Sandy) Hickman, his sister Darlene (James) Womble, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Gary joins his parents Bill and Alice Hickman in the non-physical.

A church service will be held at the Aztec Presbyterian Church on Friday, July 23, at 10:30am to celebrate his life.

In lieu of flowers donations can be made to StemBridgesHouston.com helping expand higher education in science, technology, engineering, and math for underserved students.
