Allen Goodman Saunders Elizabeth City - Allen Goodman Saunders, age 92, of Elizabeth City, NC, died at Elizabeth City Health and Rehabilitation Center on Wednesday, September 10, 2025. He was born in Perquimans County, NC, on March 18, 1933, to the late Walter Allen Saunders and Edna Goodman Saunders, and was the widower of Geraldine Moore Saunders.

After serving his country honorably in the U. S. Army, Allen was a distributor for an oil company. He was a member of Elizabeth City Chapter #44 of the Eastern Star and a member of Eureka Lodge #317 for over 60 years. He attended Corinth Baptist Church.

Allen is survived by three daughters, Lynne S. Austin (Randy) of TX, Aline S. Mickey (Sam) and Jane S. Higgins (Barney), both of Elizabeth City, NC; a sister, Marie Kondrach of FL; seven grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his parents; his wife; and his siblings, Faye Proctor, Ronald Saunders, Jeannette Fortunato, and Walter Donald Saunders.

A funeral service will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, September 15, 2025, at Twiford Memorial Chapel with Pastor Greg Carr officiating. The family will greet family and friends immediately following the service. Burial will be in West Lawn Cemetery. Allen's service will be live streamed on his obituary page at www.twifordfh.com.
