Beverly Diggs Obituary
ELIZABETH CITY - Beverly Netherland Diggs, age 76, died on Saturday, February 10, 2018. She was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Edward Diggs (Ed).
Beverly was born July 20, 1941 to William Harold Netherland and Cora Barnes Netherland in Norfolk VA. Beverly and Ed were married on June 27, 1959. Also known as Memal, she was a grandmother to all. She was an artist at heart, ready to paint a landscape on any surface she could find. She impacted countless individuals through her years of coaching sports teams, leading Girl Scout troops, teaching various children's and teens' ministries, and opening her home and her heart to friends and family.
She is survived by her daughters, Beverly Gerres (Joseph) of South Mills, NC and Tina Ange (Ronnie) of Bedford, VA; her sister, Margaret Mapp of Chesapeake, VA; her four grandchildren, Charlie Richey, Ryan Gerres (Caitlin), Rainey Ange, Tuesday Ange; and her great-grandsons, Darcy Gerres (Ryan) and Baby Davis (Rainey). She will be lovingly remembered and greatly missed.
A celebration of Beverly's life will be held on Saturday, February 17, 2018, at 11:00 am at Ebenezer Baptist Church where she served and worshiped for many years - 117 Main Street, South Mills, NC 27976.
Flowers are welcome. Remembrances may be sent to the church through Jeffrey's Greenworld & Florist, Inc. (252-338-1303).

I just want to say you will be missed. I think of you as a person who gave so much of yourself helping with all the activities and teachings and lets not forget camping :) you were very talented and after God your family was number one....love you and my mom,Jean Mapp Thigpen, would want me to tell you that she loves you... i'll be praying for all the family, for God to give them peace.

The impact Mrs Diggs made on my life and my son's life is one that will be cherished! Bri knew her as memal and that's how my mom became memal.
