Cathleen W. Forbes

Mrs. Cathleen Wells Forbes, age 77, of the 200 block of Queen St., Elizabeth City, N.C., died Monday, Oct. 9, 2006 at Albemarle Hospital. Mrs. Forbes, a native of Pitt County, N.C., was the daughter of the late David Elmo Wells and Mollie Davenport Wells and the widow of Henry Forbes. Mrs. Forbes devoted all her life and time to taking care of her family. Each family member was special to her in their own way. here was nothing about her that fit the traditional mold. Her loving family and good friends gave her life a little more spunk. She was a member of Saint Paul Original Free Will Baptist Church and a 14-year employee of the Elizabeth City Cotton Mills. Mrs. Forbes is survived by three daughters, Joyce Surbaugh and husband, Ross, of Moyock, N.C., Deborah Daniels and husband, Roger, of Havelock, N.C. and Betty Jean Sheriff and husband, Chris, of Elizabethtown, N.C.; three sons, Eddie D. Connie and wife, Judy, of Bunn, N.C., C.E. ÒBuckÓ Sessoms of Rocky Mount, N.C. and Jerry L. Sessoms of Virginia; three sisters, Christine Daughtridge and husband, George, of Rocky Mount, N.C., Cora Vincent of Grimesland, N.C., and Pat Moore and husband, David, of Farmville, N.C.; three brothers, Bud Wells and wife, Barbara, of Farmville, N.C., Walter Lee Wells and wife, Shelby, of Maysville, N.C., and David Wells and wife, Carolyn, of Alabama; 12 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by a son, Jimmy Lee, and two brothers, Russell D. Wells and Douglas MacArthur Wells. The family offers a special thanks to George. A memorial service will be Sunday, Oct. 15, 2006 at 2 p.m. at Saint Paul Original Free Will Baptist Church with the Rev. Raymond Lagcher officiating.
