Clyde Bunch Obituary


Edenton resident

Clyde Sherman "Moody" Bunch, 75, of 214 Beech Fork Road, Edenton, died Friday, Jan. 23, 2009, in the Hampton Veterans Hospital, Hampton, Va. Mr. Bunch was born in Chowan County and was the son of the late John Sherman and Rosie Mary Bunch. A retired farmer and commercial fisherman, he for many years also worked at the Albemarle Cotton Gin. A member of Rocky Hock Baptist Church, he was an Army veteran of the Korean War. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by sisters Hazel R. Bunch and Shirley B. Byrum, and brothers Mack, Lewis, and Elbert Bunch. Surviving are his wife of 43 years, Shirley Byrum Bunch; a daughter, Melissa Anne Bunch; a sister, Elsie B. Nixon, all of Edenton; and several nieces, nephews, and extended family members. Funeral services will be held Monday at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Miller Funeral Home & Crematory, 735 Virginia Road, Edenton, by Dr. James Horton. Burial will follow in Beaver Hill Cemetery. Friends may join the family at the residence. Memorial contributions may be made to Rocky Hock Baptist Church, 113 Rocky Hock Church Road, Edenton, N.C. 27932.
