A homemaker most of her life until she and her husband, Bill, purchased the Vicki Villa motel and Golden Lion Pub in Elizabeth City, NC. Many memories were made there and will never be forgotten by family members and friends of the community. After Bill's passing, Jan retired and purchased a home on Raleigh Street in Elizabeth City. Some years later, she and her son Mark relocated to Hampstead, NC. where her daughter Joyce resided. This was her final home.
Jan's number one priority was her endless devotion in taking care of her family. Her love of art inspired her paintings which she shared with her family and will be forever be treasured. Other interests included her love of gardening, bird watching, and donating to the local SPCA to assist in helping with those without a voice. She was our "go to" with advice and encouragement with all things related to gardening. She continuously kept current with technology, as her love to stay sharp and up to date was important.
Special thanks for her caregivers Don, Ginny and Joyce whom all cared for her during her very difficult illness. Thank you to her primary care physician Dr. Manolukas, Lower Cape Fear Hospice nurses, CNA's and Chaplin that guided us through her spiritual journey to ensure she was comfortable and could remain at her home as she wished.
Mom's legacy of quick wit, caring heart and love of family will remain with us for forever.
