Lincoln Spence

ELIZABETH CITY - Lincoln Spence, 95, of 1253 Northside Road, Elizabeth City, NC 27909, died Friday, January 19, 2018.

A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, January 27, 2018 at Cornerstone Missionary Baptist Church with Rev. Dr. Walter L. Smith, Jr., Minister. Visitation will be Friday, January 26, 2018 at Cornerstone Missionary Baptist Church from 6-8 p.m. Stallings Funeral Home, Elizabeth City is in charge of arrangements. Condolences may be expressed at www.stallingsfuneralhomes.com.

At an early age, Mr. Spence joined New Sawyers Creek. He became a member of Cornerstone Missionary Baptist Church, NAACP, American Legion Post 223, DAV and Masonic order. He was a loving husband of Shirley Spence for 51 years. He was also a loving father to four children and also a loving grandfather to eight and one great grand.

The son of the late Erasfus Spence and Clara Spence, survivors include his wife, Shirley Spence; three daughters, Elaine Edwards (Joseph), Linda Richard (Rev. David) and Kim Spence (Ira); a son, Carver Spence (Patricia); a sister, Odessa Manley; eight grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and a host of relatives, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He was predeceased by two sisters, Ruth Harden and Naomi Jackson.
