Coach Winslow was my PE coach 83 84. I didn´t truly appreciate what a great man and role model he was at the time. I moved away from EC many years ago and life gets pretty busy. I was answering a FB post asking to name athletes from NC that are no longer playing. He popped into my head immediately. I obviously didn´t know he had passed. He was tough and a bit intimidating but he had a heart of gold. I remember him making us crab walk around the green paint in the gym. I know it´s been a while since he passed but I just wanted to pay my respects to a great man and coach. Rest In Peace Sir.

It's been many years since your passing, coach and I still think of you often. You were an inspiration for me and many others as we grew up in Elizabetheh City and attended Northeastern High School. Thank you so much for caring about us, and teaching us integrity, honesty, and hard work ethics. You were a role model and a good man. We love you forever.

Simply put, "great man." Coach Winslow was a great influence, and touched the lives of so many athletes and students at Northeastern High School. His legacy will live on and he will never be forgotten by those of us who had the honor of meeting him. I would like to be the first to say that the city of Elizabeth City should honor him by naming the football stadium the after him. He is well deserving of such a prestigious honor. Coach Winslow will be sorely missed. I extend my heart felt condolences to the Winslow family.

Mrs. Winslow, your sons, your daughter-in-laws, and the entire Winslow Family. Coach Winslow impacted many persons he came in contact with and those he never met. The values he taught and lived by are being shared with a future generation. Prayfully, our desire to see a better and greater people will allow those values and the dedication of hard work to continue being pass to others; so that we will impact the future; just as Coach Winslow did for us.

May God enrichly bless you and keep you. And remember, there is peace, joy, and protection in the arms of Jesus. I love you. But know that there is no greater love than the love of Jesus. Linda Johnson-Spence (former co-worker of Mrs. Sarah Winslow and Mr. Paul Winslow).

To the Winslow Family,
Coach Winslow touched the lives of so many people. I became a teacher primarily because of Coach Winslow. He taught me more about life that anyone other teacher. I am grateful that he not only touched my life, but many, many other Northeastern High School Students. He lives not only in me, but many of the students I have taught and coached because of what he instilled in me. May God bless your family as you mourn the passing of a great man. Thank you Coach Winslow for what you have done for me and many others.
Sincerely,

Coach Winslow was a very special teacher for me. I was scared to death back in 1989/1990 when I discoverd that I had him for a P.E. Teacher. He is by far one of the toughest Men you will ever love!!! He spoke softly, but everyone knew how important it was to listen to his directions. He worked us hard in freshman P.E. but it was all for our good. I had the displeasure of going to him and telling him that I had gotten pregnant as a Freshman in the 9th grade, which meant I couldn't do any of the strenous exercises that Coach required of us. After telling him, I broke down and cried, I told him I should jus quit high school all together. I remembered it just like it was yesterday, he looked up from what he was writing on his little green metal cart and he looked me straight in the eye and said, "you've already made one mistake by getting pregnant at an early age, don't make two mistakes by quitting school. I believe with everything in my being that Coach Winslow IS and ALWAYS will be the reason why I not only finished high school, I have graduated undergrad, and I will graduate with my Master's degree on 05/18/2012. Sarah, Lawrence, and Troy you are all so blessed to have had a husband and a father like Coach!!! He will always be my NUMBER ONE hero!!! Be Blessed Family, you will see him again.

May the memory of the strong character and the athletic exploits of Paul Winslow be planted into the next generation of Pasquotank County youth. I am so pleased that Paul was able to see his beloved Green Bay Packers win the 2011 Super Bowl, fifty years after he played in the NFL Championship game.
