Thomas Willie Ragsdale

Thomas Willie Ragsdale 83 of 605 Laura Lee Street Elizabeth City, entered eternal rest on Sunday, Oct. 19, 2014 at the residence of his daughter. Prior to his illness he was a resident of Inglewood, Calif. Born in Kansas City, Kan. to the late Fred and Mackie Holt Ragsdale. Mr. Ragsdale was a member of Morningside UMCC located in Inglewood, Elizabeth City. He was retired from Chevron Petroleum as an Engineer. Mr. Ragsdale was also a retired World War ll 20 year Veteran of the United States Coast Guard. A Service of Remembrance will be held on Friday Oct. 24, 2014 at 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. in Corner Stone Missionary Baptist Church officiated by Rev. Walter L. Smith, Jr. In lieu of flowers the family request donations be made to American Diabetes Association. The family is receiving friends at the residence of his daughter and son in law Mr. and Mrs. Jerry Farrer 605 Laura Lee Street, Elizabeth City. He leaves to cherish his memory three daughters; Rwanda Ragsdale Farrer and her husband Jerry of Elizabeth City, Tommie Ragsdale McCune of Hurt, Va., and Nicole Ragsdale Colquitt and her husband Steven of Inglewood, Calif.; one son; Thomas Reginald Ragsdale, and his wife Trudie of Yanceyville; seven grandchildren and ten great grandchildren.
