UNION CITY, IN -- Dan E. Sullenbarger passed away on September 24, 2023, at his home. Dan was born March 17, 1943, to late George and Dorothy Sullenbarger.
Dan loved to take care of his yard and do all his own landscaping. His home always looked beautiful. Dan could also fix anything, if he couldn't, he would take it apart until he could. He worked hard all his life and took extreme pride in all his work.
Dan worked two jobs almost all his adult life. He worked at Westinghouse in Union City, IN, New Idea in Cold Water, OH and Lion Paint in Union City, IN. Dan was known for his talent of painting and staining doors, window, millwork. He was also self-employed as painter. He did work for Ansonia Lumber Company and many local contractors. He could always be trusted for quality work.
Dan was married to his wife Donna Fowler Sullenbarger for 61 years and was the father of Kathy (Chris) Moore and Mike Sullenbarger. He had four grandchildren, Clint (Thays) Smith, Silver Spring, MD. Taylor (Raelynn) Moore, Albany, IN. Blake Sullenbarger, Pendleton, IN and Audrey (Casey) Berry, Oak Grove, KY. He also had three great-grandchildren, Asher Smith, Nico Smith, and Colter Berry. He also liked to make up silly nicknames for all of them. Dan also had brother Jim Sullenbarger, Ormond Beach, FL and a sister Reda Sullenbarger, Greenville, OH and several nieces and nephews. A sister Evelyn preceded him.
There will be no services. Burial will take place at the convenience of the family.
