CARROLL -- Janet K. Robey Marker, born May 8, 1949, to Carl and Ethel Robey, died Saturday, October 4, 2025. She resided in Carroll, Ohio. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Chalmer F. Marker of Greenville, Ohio and their daughter, Angela M. Marker. Also, she is preceded in death by her siblings including brothers Ronald Robey (Martha), Bob Hogue (Jeanna), and Carl Robey, Jr.; sisters Hazel Reed (Harold), Wanda Yergin (Glen) and Evelyn Neider (Joseph).
She leaves four grandchildren, Jonathan and Aaron Lehnert, Kayla and Zachary Marker who are all living in Texas. She also leaves 49 nieces and nephews, great-great nephews and nieces and great-great-great nephews.
Janet graduated from Lancaster High School in 1967. She received a Bachelor of Arts degree from Georgetown College in 1971, a Master of Education in Counseling from Miami University in 1979 and a Doctorate in Educational Leadership from Ball State University in 2001. She taught high school English and French at Tri-Village Local School in New Madison, Ohio and worked as a counselor at Occupational Development Center in Richmond, IN. She retired from Indiana University East in 2004.
Janet was a member of Beamsville Christian Church, Greenville, Ohio, and was currently attending R.E.A.L Church in Pickerington, Ohio. She was a lifetime member of Disabled American Veterans.
A celebration of life will be held at 11 AM on Friday, October 10, 2025, at Zechar Bailey Funeral Home in Greenville with Pastor Steve Short officiating. Burial will follow in the Stelvideo Cemetery. The family will receive guests at the funeral home, on Friday from 10 AM until the time of the service.
