Lee York Obituary

CENTERVILLE -- Lee Edward York age 72, of Centerville and formerly of Greenville passed away at 2:32 pm Sunday, January 1, 2023, at Centerville Health & Rehab.

Lee was born January 22, 1950, in Harlan, Kentucky, to the late Fred & Betty Ann (Hyden) York. Lee was also preceded in death by his wife, Norma L. "Duck" York on December 3, 2018, whom he married February 12, 1982; son, Douglas York; sister, Mary Wolfe; and brothers, Troy York, David York, Clifford York and James York.

Lee is survived by a son, Dennis York of Tennessee; sisters, Alice Osborne of Palestine, Sarah A. York of Franklin and Liza Cox of Franklin; brothers, Bill York of Tennessee and Jackie York of Greenville; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Lee retired from Rumpke in Greenville where he was a heavy equipment operator for many years. He was a member of Church of God of the Mountain Assembly in Greenville.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm Tuesday, January 10, 2023, at Zechar Bailey Funeral Home in Greenville with Rev. Bill Osborne and Pastor Dennis Martin officiating. Burial will follow in Greenville Union Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 12:00 to 2:00 pm at the funeral home.
