Luella McLear Obituary

GREENVILLE -- Luella C. McLear age 99, of Greenville passed away on Friday, February 21, 2025, at the Brethren Home in Greenville. Luella was born May 9, 1925, in Darke County to the late Harry G. and Lydia (Isenbarger) Yohe. She is preceded in death by her loving husband of seventy-one years, M. Darrell McLear, son Steven D. McLear.

Luella is survived by daughters & sons-in-law, Gaye Lee & Larry Noffsinger of Centerville and Jo Ella & Rick Michael of Troy; grandchildren, Alex Noffsinger, Natalie Cantrell, Chris Michael, Pam Schanz, D.J. Michael, Courtney Thorn; and numerous great-grandchildren.

Luella grew up on a farm in Darke County and relished her years of 4-H and farm life. Luella married M. Darrell "Dutch" McLear on December 27, 1947. After graduating from the Miami Valley Hospital School of Nursing, she dedicated many years of her life to serving the healthcare needs of Darke County. Luella loved playing dominoes and any card game-- except Hearts! She and Dutch kept immaculate gardens; she truly had the greenest thumb. Luella crafted many exquisite gingerbread houses over the years. Luella's greatest pride and joy was her family.

Luella was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Greenville.
