Ruth Fields Obituary

GREENVILLE -- Ruth C. Fields, age 88, of Greenville, Ohio, passed away at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center on Saturday, March 12, 2022.

She also worked for 5 years at KitchenAid on Broadway. Earlier in her life, Ruth was a member of the Rosary Altar Society, and enjoyed helping the Greenville Knights of Columbus. Ruth loved her family, especially spending time with her sisters, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Ruth was an avid sports fan, with the Cincinnati Reds, Bengals, and the Ohio State football team being among her favorites. She was known for her cooking and baking, especially her pies (usually given to others) and her huge holiday meals. Her hobbies included feeding the birds, playing golf when she was able, and crocheting. Ruth loved her dog, Candy, who warmed her heart.

She is survived by children, Sandy Baker of Greenville, and Todd Vanatta of Union City, Ohio; her grandchildren, Chad (Erica Cook) Marker of Greenville, Jason (Beth) Marker of Jackson, Michigan, and Monica (Shayne Scantland) Hupman of Greenville; her great grandchildren, Rylie, Kayla and Addison Marker, Madison Cook, Braxton Hoffman, Brooklyn Cook, Haven and Tatum Marker, Jacob Gates, Brody Hupman, and Alayna and Levi Scantland; her sisters, Jane Christian and Glenna Ruhl; her sister-in-law, Esther Fields; and numerous extended family members and friends.

A Celebration of Ruth's life will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, March 21, 2022, at Tribute Funeral Homes Greenville Campus, with Pastor Tim Pol officiating. Burial will follow in Abbottsville Cemetery.
