Tammie Coffey Obituary

ENGLEWOOD -- The family of Tammie Lynn Coffey of Englewood is saddened to announce her passing at 5:45 AM Sunday, August 10, 2025, at Hospice of Miami County in Troy at the age of 53.

Tammie was born March 27, 1972, in San Diego, California, to Patricia Ann (Bray) & Duane Hinkle. In addition to her mother & stepfather, Tammie is also survived by her adoptive mother, Faye Abernathy; husband, Terry Coffey whom she married June 8, 2018; children, Nicholas Benavidez, Shelby Cassity, Jeffrey Thornton III & Whitney Sells; grandson, Rowan Garman; sisters, Krystal & Chad Barber and Sara & Jerame Painter; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.

Tammie is preceded in death by her adoptive father, Joe Abernathy.

Tammie was a 1991 graduate of Greenville High School and later graduated from Carousel Beauty College. She was an instructor at Miami-Jacobs College.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 to 2:00 PM on Thursday, August 14, 2025, at Zechar Bailey Funeral Home in Greenville followed by an entombment service at Greenville Union Cemetery Mausoleum.

Memorial contributions may be made to Ohio's Hospice of Miami County 3230 North County Rd. 25A, Troy, Ohio 45373.
