BROOKEVILLE -- Thelma Irene Max, age 87, of Brookville, passed away on July 18, 2022. She was preceded in death by her husband, John Lawrence Max; parents, Vernon and Donna Long; brothers, Ray and Ivan. Thelma graduated in 1952 from Monroe High School in Pitsburg. She lived in Phoenix, AZ for 25 years. While out west she learned to line dance and loved shopping for southwestern memorabilia. She was extremely health conscious and her natural healthy ways kept her from being sick for over 50 years. Thelma also had a talent for wrapping presents so perfectly that you didn't want to open them. She is survived by her children, Doug (Christeen) Max, and Deb (Guy) Laroche; grandchildren, Christin (Jon) Wilson, Brian (Ericka) Laroche, Melissa (Kyle) Miranda, Stephanie (Dalan) Koogler; eight great-grandchildren; sister, Rita (Junior) Irvin; sisters-in-law, Sally Long, and Lona Long. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, July 21st at Royal Oak Memorial Gardens, 7217 National Rd., Brookville. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to Stillwater United Methodist Church 6911 Frederick Pike, Dayton, OH 45414. Arrangements in care of Gilbert-Fellers Funeral Home, Brookville.
