CONOVER -- Thomas "Tom" A. Taxis, age 84 of Conover, passed away Thursday, October 13, 2022 at Ohio Hospice of Miami County. Tom was born in Dayton on September 24, 1938 to the (late) Herman & Zanette (Weikel) Taxis; worked as a Plumber & Pipe Fitter for 190 Local Union of Plumbers & Pipe Fitters for 50+ years; worked on Steam Locomotives; restored historical trains; enjoyed watching Gunsmoke; and worked and traveled a lot with his job. Preceded in death by his parents; grandson, Nicholas Duff; and half-brother, John Page who was killed in Action during the Vietnam War. Tom is survived by his wife of 64 years, Joanne M. (Cain) Taxis; son, Patrick Taxis of Covington; daughter and son-in-law, Regina & Jonathan Duff of Fletcher; four grandchildren, Jenna & Brent Clark, Amy & John Bubeck, Shawn & Jessica Taxis, and Joshua & Lori Taxis; 10 great-grandchildren, Baine Clark, Beckett Clark, Baylor Clark, Ryan Evans, Kane Bubeck, Lille Taxis, Hailie Taxis, Shawn Jr. Taxis, Sam Zink and Simon Zink; two sisters, Charlotte Christians and Susan & Dick Beebe, all of Wisconsin; other relatives and friends. Graveside Service and Interment 11:00 AM Saturday, October 22nd at Harris Creek Cemetery, Bradford with Chaplain Rick Johnson officiating. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Ohio Hospice of Miami County. Condolences may be left for the family at www.stockerfraley.com.
