GREENVILLE -- Thomas H. Whitton, Jr., age 101 of Greenville, Ohio passed away Monday, September 1, 2025, at his Brookdale Nursing Home in Greenville. Thomas was born September 10. 2023 in Columbus, Ohio and the son of the late Thomas Sr. and Agnes (Wallace) Whitton.
In addition to his parents, Thomas was preceded in death by his son in law, Don Partin; his sister, Mary (Harford) Bailey and his brother, David Whitton.
He is survived by his children, Connie Partin of Kissimmee, FL, Thomas Whitton III of Vandalia, OH., and Gregory (Candice) Whitton of Waynesville, OH.; his grandchildren, Jonathan (Kerry) Whitton, Jennifer Whitton and Shannon (Matt) Benton; his sister-in-law, Joan Whitton of Springfield, OH as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Thomas served his country honorably in the United States Marine Corp serving in the Pacific Theatre during World War II. Thomas worked for 30 years at NCR and then 18 years at Continental Consultants in Dayton and then 4 years as Service Director for the City of Greenville until his retirement in 1999. Thomas was a member of the Dayton Masonic Lodge, Antioch Shrine and The Darke County Shrine Club. He was a former member of the Highway Patrol Auxiliary of Dayton Post 57. He was a member VFW and American Legion and Thomas served as a leader for the Boy Scouts. He was a Scout Master for 28 years for Troup 246 in Englewood and served as Camp Director for Chief Logan in Chillicothe, OH.
A Graveside Service will be held at 11:15 AM, Wednesday, September 10, 2025, at the Greenville Union Cemetery with Pastor Andy Gilman officiating. There will also be full military honors. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to Shriners Hospital for Children, PO Box 1525, Ransom WV 25438.
