GREENVILLE -- William F. "Bill" Buchy, 97 years old of Greenville, Ohio, passed away peacefully on January 17, 2025, at Springmead/Otterbein Tipp City Health Care Nursing Home.
Bill was born October 6, 1927, in Greenville, Ohio to the late Frank and Onda Buchy.
He was a graduate of Greenville High School and served honorably in the US Navy near the end of World War II. He was an avid sports fan especially the Cleveland Browns, and enthusiastic golfer until his early 90's. He retired from NCR after 30 years and then worked at Fram in Greenville until his retirement. After retirement he enjoyed playing golf and going to Gulf Shores and Orange Beach Alabama for the winters.
Bill is preceded in death by his parents; his wife Phyllis in 2010. Also, his sister Kay Birt followed by sister in laws Jeannie Hangen and Janet Berner and brothers in law Dick Birt, Richard Hangen, and Jack Berner and son in law Jim Brown.
Bill leaves behind his son Mike (Joyce) Buchy, daughters Pam (Neil) Long, and Marsha Brown. Also 7 grandchildren Jason (Nicole) Long, Justin (Beth) Long, Jon and Julie Long, Ryan (Julie) Brown, and Adam Brown, Andrea (Zach) Depompei. 10 great grandchildren Ayden and Ava Long, Reagan Long, Jack Long, Logan, Emma, Kaylie, and Lucas Brown, and Grayson and Jace DePompei.
Services will be held on Friday January 24, 2025, at 12:00 PM at Zechar Bailey Funeral Home, Greenville, Ohio with Pastor Tony Price officiating. Burial will follow in Greenville Cemetery. The family will receive friends 1 hour prior to services at the funeral home. Veteran's services will be conducted by the Greenville Veterans Honor Guard.
Memorial contributions may be made to Greenville Area Emergency Services.
