Alexis Bowman Obituary

(80) Entered into life February 1, 1930 and passed away on March 14, 2010. Alexis, known mostly to his family and friends as "Al" or "A.Z.", was a wonderful man who proudly served in the U.S. Navy during WWII on 5/14/1947, on the U.S.S. Andraveda. He was honorably discharged in Long Beach, CA, 1949. He went on to serve the Dept. of Army - US Civil Service, Redstone Arsenal as an apprentice sheet metal worker before his 32 years of Service with the Torrance Post Office where he was more known by co-workers as "Bo". After his retirement in 1988, one of Alexis' hobbies was right here with us at the Press Enterprise where he was employed P/T as a Carrier. Alexis is survived by his two daughters,Taryn and Kim; son-in-law, Ken; 2 grandchildren, Russell and Karrell Fortner. Graveside Service at 1:15pm at Riverside National Cemetery, Staging Area #2 with military honors.

When I call out towards your bedroom Lolly runs towards your room and stands and waits for you to open up the door and come out. When I look out the front window and say "Dad" or " Grandpa" Lolly's up on her hind legs looking out to the right waiting for you to come walking back with the mail...... I love you......Kim
