Cleo La Farga Obituary

A native of San Pedro, Cleo's family name has roots dating back generations in the town. He attended Holy Trinity Elementary and was a graduate of Serra High School. A member of the ILWU, he was employed as a Longshoreman for the past 10 years. Cleo had many passions in life including vintage cars, mountain biking, travel, and was a Harley-Davidson enthusiast. His biggest passion was the love he shared for his family and friends. It was exceptional and noted by all. It was seen most in the unselfish, primary care giving role of his father, Cleo Sr. He is survived and will forever be missed by his father, Cleo La Farga of San Pedro, CA; mother, Bertha Hernandez of Mesa, AZ; and one sister, Linda-Ann Daee of Gilbert, AZ. Please sign the guest book at www.dailybreeze/obits.com. A Mass will be offered on Monday, June 9, 2008 at Holy Trinity Catholic Church. Interment will follow the Mass at Green Hills Memorial Park. Visitation will be Sunday, June 8, 2008 from 12:00 P.M. to 5:00 P.M. at:

Now that I fanilly found you. You are gone. The short time that we got to spend together were the best times. You were always such a gentleman when you came around. Wish I could of had more time with you and got to know u better and met your family, but thank you for your letters you wrote me when I was in Texas and the cassette tapes u made me and sent to me with all the good jams you played when you came around. I'm so glad I got to met you at San Pedro High School when you sat in back of me in math class with those eyes starring at me every time I looked around at you. Those times have came and gone now but I always had you in the back of my mind and you will always have a place in my heart. Thank you for being there for me when I needed your help. You have been missed and always will. So sorry to the Lafargas and to he's mother Bertha Hernandez for the loss of a very special and awesome boy you have!!!!! To Cleo looking down from Heaven I will always remember you, and you will always be missed . I have always tried to find you but never could , or looked you up but never could find you until now. I know your in a better place now.

Mr. La Farga, Bertha, and Linda(Joe)

There's nothing anyone can do or say to make the pain go away. I want to let all of you know how very sorry we are for your loss.
Cleo was a special person in our lives. We only knew him for 8 short years but in that time we shared alot of happy times together. We are going to miss everything about him especially his smile, his laugh, his not so funny jokes, his caring heart, his beautiful eyes and just him being here. Cleo was always there to help out in any way he could. His child-like ways were sometimes embarrassing but it was so cute to see. It was like having 2 kids around that I couldn't control.
He made Nicole happy and gave her a special kind of friendship and that was inportant to me. I have alot of good memories of him with us, and that can't be taken away. He will always be my handsome. Cleo never understood how much he meant to me. I love him and miss him very much.

Cleo was one of the truest friends that anyone could ever have. We could always depend on him. If Cleo said he was going to be there, HE WOULD BE THERE. Always showed up dressed sharp and with the cleanest ride. I can still hear your laugh in my head bro. You were loved and will always be missed. Rest in peace my brother.

June 9th 2008, we all buried little Cleo, God rest his soul. The memories of Cleo are still fresh and will always remain in our hearts and in our minds, he will always be remembered by all who are reading this. For those of us who are still here, i urge you please to visit his father Cleo Sr, he lives next door to the Holy Trinity Rectory. In times of sorrow, the ones who little Cleo have left behind are the ones who will suffer the longest emotional pain here on earth. If little Cleo meant so much to you please show his father how much you really cared and loved his son and how he affected your life in such a positive way. if there ever was a time when Cleo Sr, Bertha, Linda and Cuca need your show of affection its now, and forever.

My dearest sympathy goes out to the La Farga family. You are in my thoughts and prayers.

Cleo,
I have been blessed to have you as a friend since the second grade. You have always been a kind hearted friend that would go out of his way to say Hi. I would like to thank you for all the memories we have shared through the years. From playing in the school yard at Holy Trinity and the long trips to Bishop Montgomery in the back of your Sisters Karmann ghia. To the cruising in Hollywood in your white Nissan truck at the age of 16 when you only had your permit. It has been an honor to call you my friend and I will cherish the memoires I have. Till we someday meet again. God Bless and take care.

Your Friend,
Fernando Ortega Jr.

These two memories come to mind as I think about little Cleo. When I was in school and studying photography, I needed to photograph a child. My Nina Cuca gave the OK for me to come over to the house on Santa Cruz to take his picture. I have photographed a lot of people, but I'll never forget, and will always treasure, those black and white prints of Cleo in the backyard, playing with his toys. Few children have, or radiate, such beauty. The second is the last time I saw him. I could see the joy and pride he brought his father and grandmother, and in the few minutes we were able to chat and catch up, I thought to myself what a handsome, gentle and friendly man he had become. So much of what he became was the result of what he had been given by his parents and grandparents.

Dear Cleo, Bertha & Family
My heart goes out to you. Losing a loved one, especially a child is a painful thing to go through in life. Lean on the Lord for strength. Know that he is only a prayer away. I send my thoughts and prayers to all of you. I don't know if you remember me but back in the junior high and part of my high school days I hung around with the crowd on Second Street. That was so very long ago but was a memorable time in my life.

God Bless All of You and may the memories of your son be with you always.

Sincerely....Kathie

My deepest sympathies to Cleo's family and friends. Cleo was a friend like no other. In the brief years starting from our casual longshoring days until now I have memories of a man who stood and worked side by side with me. There was never a time I couldn't count on Cleo. I also could expect a call from Cleo every couple of months. Cleo would call just to see what I was up to and to let me know what he was doing. His life seemed so adventurous. Our conversation would always end with did you go out and have a big fluffy lobster tail and when were we going to have one together. Cleo will always be in my thoughts and our conversations will be cherished as they helped me grow as a person. As a rememberence to a great friend my family and I will have a ritual lobster dinner in rememberence of Cleo.
