Dr. David Joseph Hannemann passed away on April 17, 2015 at his home in Westlake Village after a long battle with brain cancer. Born in Chicago, Illinois, David grew up on the Palos Verdes Peninsula and graduated from Rolling Hills High School, where he was member of the CIF championship soccer team of 1984 and earned a place on the All-CIF first team. He received his undergraduate degree in Zoology from the University of California, Berkeley and then received his DDS from the University of California, Los Angeles in 1992.
After receiving his license in dentistry, Dr. Hannemann established practices in San Pedro, Redlands, and Carlsbad. As busy as he was he found time to volunteer at his church and with the homeless in San Diego as well as two orphanages in Mexico. He also coached soccer in Northern San Diego County. He became an avid golfer, whose favorite partner was his father, whom he sometimes let win. He also traveled the world visiting Israel, Italy, England, Ireland, Australia, Peru, and many islands. Friends and family loved spending time with David, who could always be counted on to enliven any gathering. He had a lively sense of. humor and was always begged to be on any Trivial Pursuit team. He will be greatly missed.
Dr. Hannemann is survived by his wife Monica of Westlake Village, his parents Tim and Carol Hannemann of Palos Verdes Estates, his sister Beth Hannemann of Hermosa beach, and sister Suzi Nankervis, niece and nephew Alexxis Nankervis and Justin Nankervis all of Yorba Linda and step daughter Danielle Adler. A private celebration of life was held.
