Just yesterday I participated in a small lunchtime reunion with childhood Mar Vista friends Jason and Gary Newman, Greg Lawrence, and my brother Ron. I asked Jason if he knew whatever happened to David - my family left Mar Vista in 1969 and I had searched online a few times over the years with no luck. Just now, I found this obituary. I was so sad to hear of his passing and regret I was not able to make contact with him, but I'm so glad to know what a happy and successful life he had. He was such a kind, gentle person, with natural athletic skills. I also remember him playing the trumpet. At Mark Twain we were both in the band and played in the brass ensemble. I remember walking with him and Richard Clease to summer school at Mark Twain, grabbing cream puffs from the Helms Man in front of the McCardle home on Rosewood Avenue. My sincere condolences.
