George was the VP at Broad Ave. during the time my children were attending, '69-'77. I worked with him in the PTA, and other school activities. A warm and generous man, that was kind to all the children and parents.

George was a very nice person. I knew him when he was the Vice Principal at Wilmington Park Elementary School. He was always approachable if ever there was a concern. We hit it off well. Over the years we would send greetings to each other through Elsa Saldana who worked in the school office at Wilmington Park when George was there.Though all of us moved on there would always be a hello sent over the years. He truly will be missed by so many. One thing I remember clearly was my husband Jim & I being invited to the Viet Nam Restaurant that his wife owned years ago, in Torrance. To his family I send you prayers to strengthen you and to hope that all the wonderful things that are being said about him will help in your healing process. Loss is never easy but in time the memories will help all of you . God bless All of You. Sincerely...Kathie Palada Dixon

George was Assistant Principal at Wilmington Park for many years. My wife, Becky Escobar, and I had the honor and pleasure of working with him there. And for years, he helped us with financial advice. He will be sorely missed. Our prayers shall be with all his family members.

Tom and I are both saddened to learn of George's passing. We had hoped he would persevere. We have known George for many years, and shared laughs and drinks at the old Rueben's in Torrance with a group of friends. He was always kind and great to work with - we will both miss him very much. Our condolences to all of his family members.

I met Mr. Finnie at Broad Av. I was in the 5th grade. He was a very kind hearted man and taught me alot. I have many wonderful memories of him as I grew up, he was our Tweety Stompers softball coach, took our team to see the Dodgers play. I will never forget his kindness to me and my family.
