Kenneth Eastman Obituary

Our beloved son, brother, uncle and friend, Kenny passed away at home Sunday March 18, 2012. He went peacefully in his sleep after a courageous two year battle with cancer. Kenny was born in Illinois on April 17, 1962 and moved to California with his family in 1969. Kenny attended Lunada Bay Elementary, Margate Middle School, Palos Verdes High School and College of Siskiyou. He was preceded in death by his father, William H. Eastman. His final days were spent surrounded by his mother, Micki and his two sisters, Cindy and Carrie. Kenny was especially devoted to God, his family, friends and was always ready to help others whether he knew them or not. At all times adventurous, with a passion for surfing, fishing and off-roading yet still took the time to "smell the roses". After losing his father he continued running the family business, La Casa Verde making many friends along the way. A celebration of life will be held Saturday, March 24, 2012 at 2:30 pm at St. Peter's By the Sea Presbyterian Church, 6410 Palos Verdes Drive South, Rancho Palos Verdes, CA 90275. In lieu of flowers, please send a donation to the Cancer Society. Please sign the guestbook at www.dailybreeze.com/obits.

Cindy, Carrie and Micki,

Though we didn't know Kenny personally, it is clear from reading the entries on this guest book that Kenny was a wonderful man who would help anyone who needed it and was loved by many. We are so sorry you lost him so early in his life but take comfort that he is now at peace, no longer in pain with God and your father. He will be watching over you all and will still be with you. We also think he should look for Bob's brother, Jimmy- it sounds like they would hit it off great. Hugs and love from Atlanta,

I knew Kenny from pee wee league or little league and then went to school with him from Junior High on. I guess we were on the same team for a while because we became good buds at some point. Through the years it was always great to run into him. He was a solid guy. He was tough and talented, but I was alway struck by how humble and kind he was also. I'll miss him. My condolences to the Eastmans

As his neighbor of many years, Ken was a trusted friend. You could always find him in the afternoon working in his garage. That's where we would chat while solving the worlds crisis and instructing each other on the topic of "understanding women".... I NEVER heard Ken speak ill of anyone. He was a stand up guy who, although he fought some personal battles, went to meet his maker with a peace in his heart and a legacy of dignity and respect. I know he's up in heaven catching his father up on all the latest... and, helping ANYONE who needs a helping hand. SEMPER FIDELIS Ken. You will be missed.

Kenny was my first love, first boyfriend, first kiss! A talented man in so many ways. Piano skills like no other. The best surfer, skilled football player, amazing baseball player with a sweet kind heart. I am speechless with a heavy heart. I know you are comfortable now watching all of us. Till we meet again, please know so many people love you. Rest in Peace dear one. I will always hold you in my heart.
Love, Jodi

Dear Eastman Family,
I am so sorry for your loss... words just can't express how I felt when I heard the sad news. Kenny was one of my first friends when I moved to PV and he has remained a good friend all of these years. We had many good times and good laughs although not nearly enough. I will forever miss his smile, his laugh, his stories... but most of all I am really going to just miss my friend. You'll always be in my heart Kenny. I know in my heart that you are in the best place...with God. It is with a heavy heart that I say, "Until we meet again" Rest In Peace friend.

To the Eastman Family:

May the love of those around you, help you through the days ahead. Hold tight to cherished memories.....Lean on your friends for support.......And look to God's Word, the Bible, for comfort and strength. James 4:8 encourages; "Draw close to God, and he will draw close to you."

My condolences,
SJB.
