Lawrence Camporeale Obituary

A 54 year resident of Torrance, passed away on Sunday, January 16, 2011 in Torrance, CA. He was born June 18, 1920 in Manhattan, NY. Larry grew up in New York and graduated from the Wharton School of Business. He proudly served his country in World War II and was a decorated Veteran. Larry retired from the Treasury Department after a 40 year career. He was a devoted husband. Larry enjoyed traveling. His passion was good food and cooking. Larry was very comfortable in the kitchen and his specialty was incredible Italian food. Lawrence is survived by wife, Mary Jane Camporeale; children, Anna Conway (John), Valerie Teter (Scott), Cesare Sellan and Donavan Sellan (Sandra); and nine grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Michael and Julia Camporeale; his 8 brothers and sisters and first wife, Frances. A visitation will be held at White & Day Colonial Mortuary in Redondo Beach on Thursday, January 20, 2011 at from 5:00 P.M. to 9:00 P.M. The Mass will be celebrated at St. Lawrence Martyr Church on Friday, January 21, 2011 at 10:00 A.M. Burial will be at Holy Cross Cemetery in Culver City. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to your favorite charity. Please sign the guest book at www.dailybreeze.com/obits.
