Margaret VanNorman Obituary

Margaret Van Norman, the daughter of John and Vivian Jaro, passed away from breast cancer on January 16, 2012. She was born on January 14, 1966 in Brooklyn New York and has been a long time resident of Redondo Beach, California. Margaret is survived by her beloved husband; Mark, children; Megan, Natalie and Olivia, mother; Vivian Jaro and sisters; Elizabeth Jaro and Jennifer Mauriello. Margaret was an educator for over 20 years, and her students and teaching were her passion. She was active in her community as a scout leader and in many aspects of her church including as Children Education director. She will be dearly missed by all her family and friends who were so special to her. In lieu of flowers, gifts in her memory may be made to breast cancer foundations to seek a cure. Graveside services will be held at Green Hills Memorial Park Friday, January 20, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. Memorial Service will be held at Riviera United Methodist Church Friday, January 20, 2012 at 4:30 p.m. Please sign the guest book at www.dailybreeze.com/obits.

In the third grade, I was
honored with Ms. Van Norman at Hermosa Valley as my teacher, who corporated many unique teaching
techniques into our daily learning. Whether it was studying for a test about native
Americans or the tough task of long division, she helped every student overcome those
challenges.
We last a wonderful woman,mother,wife and one of most amazing teacher that I ever known.
Our thoughts and prayers are with her family.

My son Ryan was fortunate to have Margaret Van Norman as his third grade teacher at Hermosa Valley. She is the kind of teacher that touches souls and changes lives. Our whole family will miss her. We know that her light and memory will always shine. Our thoughts and prayers are with the entire family.
