We still remember Mike Fry at Operation Jump Start as the caring, take charge person that he was. I still remember him as a role model especially for our young male students. I had never met his “little brother” till his memorial service. He was a fine young adult. Who had also benefited so much from Mike being a part of his life.

How fleetingly you slipped from our lives and how great your love of mankind still shines in all of those you touched. At ease Good Soldier, your work here will carry on. I will truly miss you my friend.

Mike was a friend and a fellow traveler. He laughed easily, often at my worst jokes. I will remember him as a kind hearted, thoughtful, courageous man.

Mike was Executive Director for Operation Jump Start in Long Beach, CA. He mentored all of the students just by being there. He has done so much for all of the organizations and people's lives that he touched. Mike will be missed by a lot of people. I am sure that he will be watching all of us from above. Mike was a wonderful Big Brother to my son, Corey. He was there for all the big occasions (adoption, junior high graduation & high school graduation) and he attended many baseball games, football game (rain or shine) and school concerts to support Corey. He was a good stable influence for Corey.
We had some great times. He was always smiling and eating ice cream! The "old geezer" as he was affectionately called by Corey will be truly missed.
My deepest sympathy to his sisters and his many friends.

My world is richer for having known Mike. He was huge example of right living particularly in modeling what "being of service" really means. I know that he rests in peace. Good job, Mike!
