Patricia Acree Obituary

Patricia (Risse) Acree, passed on to the loving light on Wednesday, April 14, 2010 at age 78. Pat was a woman with a smile in her heart. She and her parents, Elmer and Josephine Risse lived in Los Angeles, then moved to San Pedro, where Pat grew up. As a young woman Pat was a secretary at Hawthorne Municipal Airport, her love of planes and small local airports was captured by one of her nieces. Pat married Phil Acree, they had one son, Wesley. They lived in Vista, CA. on a small ranch. Wesley had a passion for riding and became a champion bull rider in his early 20's. Pat and son, Wes moved back to San Pedro living near her mother, to whom she would later become the main care giver. Pat was secretary/bookkeeper at Sparkletts Water and retired due to a back injury. Pat was preceded in death by both parents; brother, Wilber Moore; husband, and son. She loved entertaining at home, there was always laughter, good food, family and friends. Her warmth, understanding and outgoing personality always made her a favorite among her young nieces and nephews. Being generous of nature she would often leave her home to house sit and take care of pets when family members took vacations. Pat always brought a smile and a laugh to every moment. At her Club House she was often elected to chair entertainment events, one of her favorites was the Halloween costume party, she was often the winner of first prize. Pat loved to talk to everyone she met and could always make that person feel special. Patricia is survived by her brother, Larry Moore; nephew, Randy Moore; nieces, Janet Tucker, Margo Searer, Vivian Kazen, Colleen Weitz; great-nephew, Brett Moore and family; great-great nieces Taylor and Shelby Banach in Hawaii. Also her friend, Steve Jones and many others here and Oregon. She was always a ray of sunshine in our life's … we will miss you. Graveside services will be held Thursday, April 22, 2010, 1:00pm at Green Hills Memorial Park, 27501 So. Western Avenue, Rancho Palos Verdes, CA 90275. 310-831-3-0311. The Broken Chain

Those we have held in our arms for a little while, we hold in our hearts forever.
In life we meet only a few people who touch our hearts in the way she did. The memories we made together will be cherished always. God Bless her.
We Love You Aunt Pat. Your Niece Margo Moore-Searer and Nephew Gary Searer
P.S. She is having a good old time reminiscing with my father over a beer and a smoke. And there is no more pain. AND She is reunited with her son Wes again.

Some of my fondest memories that I have carried for years and will continue to do so are of living near the family. I have very clear memories of staying with Grandpa and Grandma Risse in San Pedro and visiting with everyone, especially at our home in Hawthorne for Thanksgiving dinners. It is sad that since up north we had little contact with the family, but I am grateful for the time we did have. Thank you and everyone for the fond memories. My condoloences to Uncle Larry and cousins Janet & Randy. All of you were very good and loving family to Aunt Pat. Much love to all.

Aunt Pat was my friend as well as my Aunt. When I was growing up, she treated all us kids like people, not kids, I loved that about her. When we grew up Pat would party with us after all "the adults" had gone home. Pat will not be forgotten.
