I am so sorry for your loss. Steve told me of his passing and I looked for this on line. I am so glad I did as the words here touched my heart. As I watch the sunset tonight I think of your family and Richard and wish for peace at this time of grief and loss.
Our condolences and love pour out to you,

I met Richard, Marcie and family after I moved to Torrance in 1983, with my (now-ex) husband, and two young sons, Aaron and Ryan. We lived a few blocks from them on Calle de Arboles when one day Marcie noticed a young boy (my son) about Justins age riding a bike in the neighborhood. After introducing Aaron and Justin they became fast friends and a wonderful friendship developed between the boys and our two families. I still fondly remember summers of the boys riding bikes, building forts along the bridal path, and of course the beach, beach, beach! Marcie and Richard were such generous neighbors; Richard sharing his catch of yellowtail tuna from a recent fishing outing, taking the boys to Dodgers games, and Marcie with her endless energy, taking all 5 kids to the beach park, ice-skating at the mall, etc.
We missed them dearly when we moved to San Diego in 1988. We did manage a few family get-togethers over the next few years, they traveling to San Diego, or we to Torrance. But kids grow, couples divorce, but I never did lose my friendship with them, and is one I cherish to this day. Marcie would share with me the amazing trips Richard had planned for them to exotic international sites. Their shared love of adventure, music, and just being together always shown through.
Richard, you made our lives richer for those who knew you, and you will be missed so much.

I had the distinct pleasure of working with Richard. I often hired him as an independent adjuster to assist me with my work in the High Net Worth insurance claims world. He always exemplified professionalism and was excellent at his job. He will be missed, and I am so very sorry for his family and loved ones. May he rest in peace .
