To the Gathy family,
Robert and I grew up in the same neighborhood in the Bronx in the 1950s. We had the some of the same friends. I remember seeing him going home after baseball practice wearing his uniform, cap and carrying his baseball bat. He was a shy young man and rather quiet. I´m sorry for your great loss.
My condolences to his wife and family.

A few years ago several of us celebrated the 50th anniversary of meeting at Fort McArthur and being in the Honor Guard. Bob and Edima insisted on hosting what turned out to be a wonderful, wonderful evening. Since then, we got together again in 2017, and have been in touch through his medical challenges these past few years. Edilma, our prayers are with you during this difficult time. I was blessed to have known Bob.
