April 11, 1952 - June 21, 2022 On Tuesday, June 21, 2022 Wesley John Ogle passed away at the age of 70. Wes was born on April 11, 1952 in New Haven, CT to Wesley and Kathleen (Goudy) Ogle. He moved with his parents to Redlands, CA and then to Las Vegas, NV as a young child and where he remained until he turned 18. Wes got hooked on surfing and skateboarding as a teen during many family vacations to the coast, and eventually made his own boards in his father's garage. Soon after turning 18, Wes moved to Manhattan Beach, CA to realize his dream of surfing and living the beach lifestyle. He went to work for Windsurfing International, Inc. in the mid to late 1970's and became an avid sailboard rider and competitor. He introduced sailboarding to his parents and sisters on lakes in Idaho, and bays in California. Wes was a lifelong classic car enthusiast, restoring several cars in his 20's and 30's. His pride was his lemon yellow 1967 Chevy Nova Super Sport which he brought to car shows and cruise nights in the beach cities. In the late 1980's, Wes went to work for Cobra Kayaks where he supervised the manufacturing of plastic kayaks. He was an avid kayak surfer up and down the California coast. Wes lived in Hawthorne, California until the time of his death. Wes was known for his great sense of humor, his love of nature and gardening, his selfless dedication to his family, and his empathy and care for his friends. Wesley was preceded in death by his father, Wesley, his mother, Kathleen, and his sister Kimberly. He is survived by his sisters Nancy, Janine, and Mary, nephews Scott, Adam, Troy and Cory, and his loving girlfriend Bonnie. A memorial service will be held on Friday, August 19, 2022 at Halverson, Stone & Myers Mortuary in Torrance, CA at 11 o'clock in the morning.
