Yu Shi Liu M.D.

Our father, Dr. Yu-Shi Liu, MD passed away on January 3, 2022 at the age of 83. He was born in Taoyuan, Taiwan, Yu-Shi completed his medical studies at the National Defence Medical Center in 1965. He served as an army medic, then trained as a surgeon at the Tri-Service Medical Hospital. In 1973, he was a surgical fellow at the Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Research Center (NYC). After his return to Taiwan, he founded the Yangming Hospital of Taoyuan(1974-9) and later became the Chief-of-Surgery at the China Medical University Beigang Hospital and the founding Chief-of-Surgery at the Cheng Hsin General Hospital (1990-2013). He leaves behind his wife of 57 years Su-Ching Liu of Palos Verdes, 4 children-John (Hee Yun), Peter (Vivian), Jenny (Perry), and David (Kelly), and 8 grandchildren-Stephanie, Wesley, Sean, Eowyn, Aleric, Chloe, Andrew, and Elena.

Interment will be held at 10 am on Friday, April 8, 2022 at the Rose Hills'Buddhist Columbarium.
