Amy Jensen

Amy Carol Jensen was called home to be with her Lord and Savior on June 30, 2021, in Boulder Colorado after a brief illness. She was born on July 16, 1935, to Edwin Charles Shuttleworth and Amy Caroline Shuttleworth in Amsterdam, NY. Her education included attendance at Emma Willard School in Troy, NY followed by LaSalle Junior College in Auburndale, MA studying art and design. She married J. Douglas Jensen on April 20, 1957, in Amsterdam NY, residing in Ridgewood, NJ until their relocation to Boulder in 1970. Doug and Carol's 55-year marriage was a testament to true love. Carol will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and aunt as well as a talented artist, knitter, and chef. Her infamous holiday meals and handmade greeting cards will certainly be missed by all. She was also known for her abilities as a tennis player, skier and as of late her many daily walks and her manicured gardens. She volunteered in many capacities at both First Presbyterian Church and Calvary Bible Church, also visiting nursing homes and working with the women's jail ministry just to name a few. She is survived by David (Rhonda) Jensen of Glenwood Springs, CO, Amy Wolf of Lafayette, CO, grandchildren Taylor Jensen, Landon Jensen, Elyse (Frederick) Beckman, great-granddaughter Olivia Beckman and her brother Dr. Edwin C. Shuttleworth II. Preceded in death by husband J. Douglas Jensen, brothers Allen B. Shuttleworth and Dr. David B. Shuttleworth. An 11 a.m. celebration of Carol's life is planned for Monday, July 19, 2021, at Calvary Bible Church, 3245 Kalmia, Boulder, CO 80301.
