Cal had a dry sense of humor and a twinkle in his eye. He was fun.

Dear Cheryl and Family,
Jim and I were saddened when we heard about Cal's passing. I remember him fondly and with humor and kindness on our trip to Greece. And what a talented photographer!
Jim has many fond memories of Cal from bicycling and the Points Races.
Please know that our thoughts are with you during this difficult time.

We had only known Cal for 5 years, but he had become a special friend, stopping in for coffee and a chat, discussing photography. He made us feel very welcome at the CO Nature Camera Club. We will not easily forget him for many reasons, but especially because 2 of his photographs are hanging on our wall.

Calvin was a kind and gentle soul, a caring and thoughtful steward of the earth. He had an unending patience for creatures great and small. RIP Uncle Calvin.❤

To know this gentle caring man was to love him. I asked my grandson what he remembered about Uncle Calvin and he said that Uncle Calvin loved nature. Calvin willingly passed on his expertise and experience to others and made us all love and appreciate his part of the country from the smallest flower to his beloved ptarmigan. He may be gone but he is not forgotten.

Calvin was my brother. He was always good at making me laugh. I loved to listen to his stories of picture taking adventures. He was soft spoken, kind, and funny. I will miss him immensely.

Cal was an extremely caring man. His photography was beautiful and his patience in waiting for ptarmigans an act of patience and love.

"Funny and caring" are well-chosen adjectives for Cal. I might add "gentleman" and "true professional." Peace to Cheryl and family.
