Donna Price Obituary

Donna J. Staley Price
1926-2014
Donna J. Staley Price, 87, of Twin Falls and Boise, Idaho, passed away on Friday, January 17, 2014 in a care home in Nampa, Idaho. She was born March 14, 1926 in Kimberly, Idaho, to Benjamin Jay Staley and Sarah Cloe Sudweeks Staley. On March 1, 1945, she married Garth D. Price at the LDS temple in Mesa, Arizona, where he was serving in the US Army Air Corps.
She is survived by her daughter, Michelle Easson and son in law, Anthony Mark Easson, of Phoenix, Arizona, her grandaughter, Nicole Schafer and her two great grandsons, Cole and Simon Pope, all of Nampa, Idaho. Also surviving her is her dear brother, Gail Staley, of Twin Falls, Idaho.
She was preceeded in death by her parents, husband Garth, daughters Jackie Price, Carolyn Price Schafer, and sisters Dorothy Field of Boise, Pearl Robertson and Cleo Denton, of Twin Falls, Idaho.
Donna graduated from Kimberly High School in 1944 and was a long time resident of Twin Falls, Idaho, where she raised her daughters and worked as a sales associate and was a partner in a cosmetic and beauty consulting business. Garth worked as a carpenter and founded his own construction company, building many residential and commercial buildings. They raised their daughters in Twin Falls and were active members of their LDS ward, with Donna serving as choir director and Garth as a teacher.
Donna and Garth moved to Sedona, Arizona in 1985 and managed Rainbow Farm resort in Oak Creek Canyon for many years until their semi-retirement in 1992 and the beginning of many years of travel throughout the United States, until finally dividing their time between summers in Tok, Alaska, and winters in Ajo, Arizona. They eventually settled in Boise, Idaho due to health concerns and a desire to be close to family. Theirs was that rare and devoted partnership of a happy marriage which did not falter or lose its spark until Garth passed away in 2010.
Donna will be remembered for her great heart and generous spirit. She was an eternally optimistic, caring, and loving wife, sister, mother, grandmother, and friend to all. She had a great capacity for friendship and maintaining an upbeat and happy optimism. She was a talented singer, seamstress, and an avid skiier and adventurer who was always open to fun and bringing out the best in those around her. She found joy in every day, beauty in all around her, faith and hope in hardship, and loved all those in her life unconditionally. Her marriage was a true life's work and her love for her husband was unending and inspirational.
Memorial services for Donna were held on Monday, January 27, at the Alden-Waggoner Funeral Chapel, Boise, Idaho. A committal service took place at the Idaho Veteran's Cemetery, Boise.
