Kyle Gale Obituary

Kyle R. Gale, of Boulder, passed away March 1, in a tragic skiing accident at Eldora Mountain Resort, while skiing with friends on a beautiful Colorado bluebird day. He was 15. Kyle was born June 28, 2005 to Shelley and Bryan Gale in Boulder, Colorado. Anyone who knew Kyle remembers him as a kind-hearted, intelligent, and selfless young man. His warm and good-natured demeanor made him easy to be around. Kyle lived with his mother, and younger brother Trevor, as well as a plethora of pets. From a young age, Kyle loved animals. He tended not only to his family's two dogs, two bunnies, and one frog, but he also took care of two parakeets and two chinchillas of his own. Kyle spoke to all the animals in a special soft voice, constantly caring about their holistic well-being. He was hoping soon to get a cat, to round out the mix. Kyle was tech-savvy beyond his years. He was a computer whiz, and excelled in computer science courses in high school. He was skilled with his drone, and loved flying it to take pictures of beautiful sunsets. Kyle's technical skills translated well to his enjoyment of video games. He especially liked playing Legend of Zelda with his friends. Beyond the fun times with video games, Kyle's friends valued his kindness, his loyalty, and how they could be themselves around him. Kyle attended Peter Pan Cooperative Preschool, Eisenhower Elementary, Nevin Platt Middle, and Fairview High School. In elementary school at Eisenhower, Kyle became a yo-yo expert. Later, while in middle school, he returned to Eisenhower to help instruct the Yo-Yo Club with Mr. Neitenbach. As a high schooler, Kyle is remembered by his teachers as an enthusiastic, conscientious, and hard-working student. He was a curious learner, leading quietly by example. He was always willing to help others, with patience and compassion. All the kids liked working with him. Kyle began his love of skiing at age five in the Eldorables program. He later joined the racing team at Eldora for two seasons. He loved being on the mountain, regardless of weather conditions, and especially enjoyed skiing freshly groomed runs. Kyle was passionate about his hobbies. In addition to skiing and video games, some favorites included riding his electric skateboard, reading the Harry Potter series, quoting funny lines from "The Office", setting off fireworks on his birthday, and double-bouncing his brother on their backyard trampoline. Along with his signature hoodie sweatshirts, Kyle also frequently wore a special necklace he got in Kauai. He loved travelling to new places, but Hawaii was his favorite spot to visit. Kyle is survived by his mother Shelley; his brother Trevor, age 14; his father Bryan; his grandfather Lloyd Clark; his granddad R. Bradley Gale; his grandma Sharon Gale; and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins. A private burial service was held March 9 at Mountain View Memorial Park. A celebration of life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Kyle's name to There With Care (www. therewithcare.org) or The Boulder Humane Society (www.boulder humane.org).

Kyle was our buddy and a good friend to our son, Elijah. He had a great sense of humor. He was smart and kind. Thanks buddy for all the memories: swimming, video games, mud wrestling, sledding at night, backpacking, going to Hawaii and shooting some great fireworks.
