Mary Colacci Guyer Obituary

Mary Elizabeth Colacci Guyer, 80, of Louisville, Colorado passed away in Aurora on October 24, 2021. Mary lived most of her life in Louisville, graduated from Louisville High School, class of 1959 and attended University of Colorado. For many years Mary worked in the family business as general manager of Colacci's Restaurant in Louisville. Mary was an author and publisher of poetry and fiction and enjoyed a lifetime of writing, known to many for her thoughtful notes, cards and letters. In sports, Mary won awards for golfing, bowling and for playing saxophone. While in college she played with CU Men's Marching Band. Mary published her first novel in 2020. Mary was known for her compassionate heart and lifetime of service to others. Her home and her heart were open to all. She walked the path of faith throughout her life. Mary lost her first-born son, Frankie, when he was 3. She is preceded in death by her mother, Rita Colacci Byrd, her father, Anthony Colacci and a younger sister, Toni Musgrove. She is survived by her 4th husband, Donald Guyer of Aurora and two sons, Michael Whitmore of Englewood and Kelly Stanton of Dacono. Memorial service will be held on Saturday, November 6th, from 11am-noon, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 6061 S Havana St, Greenwood Village, CO Also broadcast via Zoom: https://bit.ly/3CxlmvI

I belatedly offer my condolences to Mary's husband, Donnie, her sisters, Patti and Sally, and her family. I just learned today, November 11, of Mary's death. She was a dear friend for many long years.

I will miss my big sister, your Mom, she always had my back. We cannot fully appreciate joyful reunions later without tearful separations now. The only way to take sadness out of death is to take love out of life. You are in my thoughts and prayers. She was deeply loved and will be greatly missed. I love you !
