Mary Anne Knauer

1938 - 2018

Mary Anne Knauer, 79, of Boulder, Colorado passed away due to natural causes on May 27, 2018. Mary Anne was born on August 7, 1938 in Chicago, Illinois to Samuel and Margaret (Shiel) Zack. Mary Anne received her Bachelor's Degree in Music from Northwestern University. She worked as a music teacher at Ryan Elementary in Lafayette, CO. She will be fondly remembered for her love of gardening and the many beloved family recipes that stemmed from her talent in cooking. Her other interests included music and the outdoors. She is preceded in death by her husband of 18 years John Ferree, her parents Samuel and Margaret (Shiel) Zack, and her sister Suzy (Zack) Hutchison. She is survived by her children Tom (Felicia) Knauer, David (Kelly) Knauer, Kevin (Shayna) Knauer, and Carolyn (Kevin) Gallagher; 11 grandchildren; sisters Nancy, Peggy, and Lulu; brothers Tony and Peter; and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am with Rosary at 10:30 am on June 14, 2018 at Sacred Heart of Mary Parish, 6739 S Boulder Rd, with Father Cliff McMillan officiating. Interment will be at Fort Logan Cemetery at 2:00 pm. 1 Thessalonians 4:14-15 "But we do not want you to be uninformed, brothers, about those who are asleep, that you may not grieve as others do who have no hope. For since we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so, through Jesus, God will bring with him those who have fallen asleep."
