Michael Chornack Obituary

Michael (Mike) Peter Chornack was born December 10, 1950, in Ashland, PA to Peter P. Chornack and Alice Rosina Chornack. He passed away Saturday, January 21, 2023, in Boulder, CO Mike graduated from Meadville High School in 1968 and obtained his Bachelor of Science Degree (Geology) from Edinboro State College in Edinboro, PA on May 1977. Mike was in the United States Marine Corp 1970 to 1973. Mike worked on the Yucca Mountain Project at the Nevada Test Site with the U.S. Geological Survey from 1977 until he retired December 2014. He is survived by his partner Donna Hector of Highlands Ranch, Colorado, 2 nephews Michael Chornack (Casey) of Pittsburgh, PA and Steven Chornack of Meadville, PA, one great-niece, Emma Chornack and two great-nephews, Maddox and Merritt Chornack.

Michael, Jerry Tincher, and I shared a house together for about two years while in the Marine Corps. It´s been over 50 years and I still have many great memories of Michael. My condolences to whole family.
