Milton R. Marasch Obituary

Milton R. Marasch, a retired electrical and mechanical engineer and packaging architect at IBM and Lockheed Martin, was pronounced dead from natural causes on April 29, 2022, in Boulder, Colorado.

He was born April 15, 1937, to the now-deceased Cecilia and Bernard (Ben) Marasch of New London, Wisconsin. He attended the University of Wisconsin-Madison from 1958 to 1964, earning his master's degree in electrical engineering. While there, he married Nancy Anne Vanevenhoven. The two were married from Aug. 5, 1961, through her illness and death in 2014.

A craftsman, woodworker, potter and artist, he brought magic into the world, spinning tales about a marble tree and magical trapdoors, that didn't exist.

He was survived by his six children - Milton J., Mark, Matt and Marek Marasch and Michelle Ouellette and Mariah Lockwood - as well as siblings, Mary Sommer and Martin, Michael and Mark Marasch. He was predeceased by his brother John Kidd.

Right up until his death, he lived an active life, hiking trails around Boulder, socializing with friends, serving as an active member of the Catholic church and even cutting down trees by himself into his 80s.

He has been laid to rest next to Nancy at the Sacred Heart of Mary Cemetary in Boulder Colorado.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Catholic Charities and the Alzheimer's Foundation.
