PHILIP BASCOM

1938 - 2016

Lifelong resident Philip A. Bascom, died Friday, December 16, 2016 at his home in Lafayette, CO. He was 78. He was born Philip Arthur Bascom on July 17, 1938 in Boulder, CO, the only child of Herman A. and Francis M. (Ridgeway) Bascom. He grew up in Boulder and graduated from Boulder High School in 1957. On June 25, 1960, he was united in marriage to Nicolette Lee McNeill, at the Kingdom Hall of the Jehovah's Witness in Boulder. Phil had a welding business, Pioneer Welding Co and later a trucking business Pioneer Projects Inc. He served as an Elder for the congregation. He enjoyed carving, bronze and metal sculpting and hot rodding. Preceding him in death were his parents, two sons; Victor in 1971, and Dale in 1982. Survivors are his loving wife of 56 years Nicolette, their children Kimberly Krus and her husband John of Lafayette, and Rocky Bascom and his wife Laurisa of Firestone. He is also survived by three grandchildren Morgan Bascom, Wyatt Bascom, and Mitchell Bascom and his wife Ashley, and their son Mitchell Jr. Graveside services will be held on Thursday, December 22, 2016, at 1:00 PM, at Green Mountain Cemetery, 290 20th Street, Boulder, CO 80302. Memorial services will be held January 7, 2017, at 2:00 PM, at Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 6783 Baseline Road, Boulder, CO 80303.
