Erwin Patzer

Erwin Sigismund Patzer passed away peacefully at his home in Lafayette, Colorado, on Tuesday, November 25, 2025. He was 83 years old.
Born on November 7, 1942, in Guslow, Poland, Erwin was the son of the late Sigismund Patzer and Alwine Busse Patzer Klees. In 1951, his family migrated from Germany to Berthoud, Colorado, where they worked on a local farm and began building a new life. Erwin attended Boulder High School and quickly grew into a young man know for his determination, strength, and work ethic.
In his early years, Erwin excelled as a Golden Gloves boxer and a skilled bowler, participating in numerous competitive events. His passion for food and hospitality later became a defining part of his life. He showcased his culinary talents at The Lamp Post Restaurant and the Catacombs Bar in Boulder, as well as Bart's Restaurant, Hover Street North and The Track Inn in Louisville, the latter of which he proudly owned and operated. Erwin concluded his long career in the kitchen cooking for the American Legion Post 111 in Louisville, Colorado.
Erwin was a man who believed in hard work, loyalty, and the importance of family. His happiest moments were the simple ones-time spent with those he loved, sharing meals, laughter, and stories. He leaves behind a legacy of resilience, generosity, and devotion.
Erwin is survived by his son, Clay Patzer of Las Vegas, NV; daughters, Heidi Robinson (Dale) of Erie, CO; Amber Radunz (Bob) of Naples, FL; and Stacey Edlund (Bobby) of Berthoud, CO; the mother of his four children, Connie Patzer; and his grandchildren Megan Thrall (Mike), Spenser Scott (Cole), Makayla Edlund (Brandon), Ande Dougherty (John), Avery Radunz (Emma) and Reiley Edlund. He is also survived by his great-grandchildren Xander, Elleigh, Scarlett, Castiel, Ryland, and Theodore; his brothers and sisters Helmut (Mary), Sigfried (Diane), Erika, Edie, and George (Tammy); and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his sisters, Helga Maurer and Eugenia Lange; brothers-in-law Anton Maurer and Guenter Lange; and his nephew George Lange.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, December 28, 2025, from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the Vista Ridge Community Association Clubhouse. Food and beverages will be provided. Kindly RSVP to Patzer1942@gmail.com no later than Tuesday, December 23rd.
