Scott M. Gosling

1963 - 2015

Scott M. Gosling passed away in Golden on Wednesday, August 26, 2015 at his home in Coal Creek Canyon. He was born on September 13, 1963 to Erskine C. and Donna E. Gosling (née Moore) in Middleburg, VA and was preceded in death by his father (1931 - 1977) and his brother Alfred D. Gosling (1957 - 2013). He is survived by his daughter Jessica, mother, Brothers Francis R. of White Bear Lake, MN, Erskine C. of Phoenix, AZ and twin sister Susan D. of Olympia, WA. To those who knew him, Scott was an incredibly brilliant and talented man. He led the development of numerous software products for several startup companies across the Front Range for 17 years. But he was talented well beyond his work. Before leaving New Mexico where he grew up, Scott completed his private pilot's license. When he moved to Alaska in 1993, he enjoyed the last frontier by flying small airplanes across the Alaska wilderness. He also enjoyed exploring on his ATV, camping, river boating and fishing for salmon and halibut. He was an avid lover of animals. Scott relocated to Colorado in 1998 to take advantage of the dot.com boom and enjoyed living in the foothills above Golden. There, he created a woodshop and became a master furniture maker. He also enjoyed scuba diving, fly fishing, riding motorcycles, sailing, camping, and was an avid cyclist. Most anything he tried to do, he excelled at. He was a modern renaissance man. He will be fondly remembered, missed, and loved by family and friends. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, September 19th, 4-7pm at the Community United Church of Christ in Boulder. Please do not send flowers to the chapel but rather a gift in his name to the charity of your choosing.
