Ted,
I feel very grateful and blessed to have had the amount of time with you that I did. Growing up you were my only grandfather-- and you filled that role to the brim. You taught me the value of laughter, curiousity, and the constant pursuit of knowledge. I am constantly amazed by your many achievements in life, and I hope someday you can look down at me with pride too.
Much Love,
Dana

My wife, Geri, and our two children picniced with Ted, Pat, and their children
in London during a visit to Imperial College. Ted's doctoral mentor, Jim Dongey ("Mr. Reconnection" to those in our space weather research)was our host. Ted was a good friend during his consulting at NOAA's Space Weather Prediction Center.

I first met Ted circa 1984, when I joined the NOAA, Space Environment Lab. in the old DoC. "Radio Building" on Broadway. Back then, we had a regular Friday morning group get together with coffee and doughnuts. The times then seemed more relaxed than now. There were many deep and interesting physics and philosophical discussions.
That's how I first got to know Ted; I felt very fortunate be part of that.

Ray called me about Ted's death. I was so sorry to hear about his passing.
My thoughts are certainly with your sweet mother and you girls.
Your father was always so kind to me and interested in the things I was doing, even from the time I was a young girl.
I will really treasure the last time we were all together at our Mother's Memorial Service March, 2015.
Sincerely,
Cynthia Hibbard

I've always been thankful to Ted and Pat for helping me survive my years at CU. His cousin Doris Sutherland also passed away in March from Parkinson's disease.
